3rd Annual Hesselbein Global Leadership Academy Summit

This summer marks the third annual Leadership Summit of the Hesselbein Global Academy for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh, July 23–26.

We would like to share with you the truly remarkable career achievements of last year’s class.

Stephanie Talamas is working to digitize her University homework system in Monterrey, Mexico, reducing paper consumption drastically. Sheila Bodering works as the Volunteer Center Director for FirskLink . Samantha Sickbert works for Senator Al Franken in Minnesota and will soon join Americorps . Jamil Althussen has long-term plans for medical school, but has made a short-term decision to join Teach for America in Camden, NJ. Emily Bock works for Community Legal Sources in Philadelphia and Kyle Schumaker landed a job with Google out of Austin, TX. Amy Bino will be starting medical school in Tampa, FL, in the fall while Ezequiel Chizzo Jimenez will attend an international law program in Maastricht, Holland. Angela Marie Shugarts plans to pursue a graduate degree in Public Communications and Technology while working as a teaching assistant and in freelance Phil Kim traveled to the Dominican Republic to pursue various service works and Trevor Corning recently accepted a position at Brookings Executive Education in Washington, D.C.

Leader to Leader congratulates the Hesselbein Class of 2010. Frances especially is immensely proud of all of her friends at the Hesselbein Global Academy and looks forward to meeting the Class of 2011!

The Hesselbein fellows are definitely emerging leaders of the future.
